On Thursday, November 10, A4’s creative community gathered at Ms. Yoo in NYC to celebrate the launch of The Amp. Together with contributors, supporters, and so many friends who helped make the magazine possible, we enjoyed a special musical performance by Sirintip, recently profiled in The Amp by Vrinda Jagota.

On founding the magazine, Lisa Gold, Executive Director of the Asian American Arts Alliance, said, “Part of the problem was that there were no AAPI editors, so their networks have fewer AAPI writers, which translates to less AAPI coverage.”

“I feel incredibly privileged to be able to build on the work of an organization that has been so foundational to NYC’s AAPI arts community for decades,” said Shannon Lee, editor of The Amp. “It’s already been such an honor and joy collaborating with all of our talented writers and artists on these first stories. I can’t wait for The Amp to continue to grow as a record of our vibrant culture, across generations.”
