The 2022 GALLIM Moving Artist Residency is a process-based residency in the GALLIM Studio in Brooklyn for Black, Indigenous, Asian, Pacific Islander, Hispanic, Latino/a/x, and people of color movement artists who are women, non-binary, transgender and gender nonconforming, ages 18-30. The residency invites artists to design their creative needs and identify what would most nurture their growth in creation, research, training, and development. This residency is open to, but not limited to, choreographers, dance filmmakers, educators, and performers using a marley sprung floor.

The 2022 GALLIM Moving Artist Residency, sponsored by The New York Community Trust Van Lier Fellowships with leadership support from Jody and Arnhold|Arnhold Foundation and additional support from the Mertz Gilmore Foundation and the First Republic Bank, is developed in response to the disproportionately harmful impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on women, non-binary, transgender and gender nonconforming Black, Indigenous, Asian, Pacific Islander, Hispanic, Latino/a/x, and people of color creatives, and offers fully-funded space for the kindling creative processes and spirits.
