CAO Collective’s co-parent huiyin zhou is teaching a 6-week workshop series, Threading Memories: Words & Photos. Participants are asked to bring at least 3-6 physical photos from personal/family archives (or found images), along with a guiding question related to memory.
Through generative prompts, hands-on exercises, and mixed-media experimentation, participants will craft personal stories using both words and photographs. Students will look closely at artists whose work interweaves personal writing with photography, engaging topics such as queer kinship, diaspora, ancestry, grief, memory, social justice, & others shaped by student interest.
