Moving Rasa Discovery Cards Inside/Outside
12AM
Moving Rasa invites adults of different movement abilities to a physically playful outdoor workshop inspired by parkour, contact improvisation, and modern dance improvisation. Participants will climb onto and move across objects, balance in unfamiliar ways, reach, crawl, lean, share weight, partner, and find unexpected pathways through Tom Otterness’s The Real World sculptures.
The aim is not athletic achievement or polished technique, but greater freedom, curiosity, and choice in how people move and relate. Illustrated Discovery Cards offer images and relationships to explore while the sculptures, park, and other participants become part of the improvisation.
Touch and partnering are invited but never required. Every exploration can be modified through smaller movement, imagination, observation, or pause, and no dance or parkour experience is needed.
Led by Indonesian Chinese American movement artist and physical therapist Andrew Suseno, the September 26 Outdoor Opening is a complete standalone experience and also begins a six-session Inside/Outside series.
