Modern Whitney: A Comedy Panel Show about Art

Have you ever seen a piece of art in the MOMA and wondered what it means? Modern Whitney is an art comedy show where three comedians riff on what they think famous art means. After, an art experts schools them on what it actually means. This free public show is made possible by City Arts Corps Grants. Attendees must present proof of full vaccination.

City Artist Corps Grants is part of a new $25 million recovery initiative designed to help artists who were both hard hit by the pandemic and who may have been left out of other local and federal funding opportunities.

Host - Manolo Moreno is best known as co-host of cult-favorite podcast, Dr. Gameshow with Jo Firestone, which started on WFMU, moved to Earwolf, and currently resides on the Maximum Fun network. He is a Pennsylvania-born Filipino American comedian/animator/writer who has had work featured in places like Vulture, Abrams, IFC, Comedy Central, New York Television Festival, and Sundance Film Festival; and was written up in Karate Magazine’s 2016 “A List Of 5 Comedians I Know Personally.”

GARA is a comedian and performer based in NYC most known for their podcast, EN(BA)BY: A Podcast About Gender.

Christi Chiello is a stand up comedian known for her work on Comedy Central.
