HERITAGE & HARMONY, a virtual concert to launch Thursday 5/28, WQXR

WQXR, in collaboration with pianist Donna Weng Friedman, presents Heritage and Harmony, a virtual concert in celebration of Asian Pacific Heritage Month. Heritage and Harmony features classical musicians of Asian descent performing works by Asia composers in a series of videos, each of which includes a virtual performance and the musician discussing his or her heritage, as well as their connection to the piece they’ve chosen. The concert is both a recognition of the tremendous contributions to the musical canon by classical musicians of Asian descent, and also a reminder of the need to stand together against mindless intolerance.
