Disability Pride Month Art-Making Program
6 – 7PM
Join Disability Pride, Disability Joy, Exists, an art-making program that celebrates disability as an integral part of human diversity. Led by Annie Nishwani Lachhman, a disabled artist, and Lakshmee Lachhman-Persad, an educator on disability inclusion, the program invites participants to add color, words, quotes, reflections, or marks of their own to a canvas-style version of Annie’s Disability Pride Flag, helping create a shared piece that commemorates collective voices and disability pride. There will also be materials to design your own art, or even decorate your own pot (while supplies last)!
A variety of art supplies will be available to support a wide range of access needs. The program is wheelchair accessible. ASL interpreters will be present, and visual descriptions will be shared throughout. We strive to make our programs inclusive and welcoming—please contact visitorservices@bbg.org with any accessibility-related questions or requests.
This program is presented in partnership with Accessible Travel NYC.
Entrances to the Garden are located at 990 Washington Avenue and 455 Flatbush Avenue.
Tickets are included with Garden admission.
