Birds Flying Backwards: Healing Arts for Caribbean Solidarity

Birds Flying Backwards, incubated through A4 & MoCADA’s Bandung Residency, aims to build solidarity across NYC’s expansive Caribbean community including those of African, Asian, and Indigenous ancestry. Together we will center the lived experience of those most impacted by gender-based violence, seed new relationships, and align our collective visions for a most liberated future. Utilizing the transformative power of art, we’ll strategize plans for further educating/agitating/organizing our communities.

The workshop, organized by Priya Florence Dadlani, is free with donations encouraged which will be going towards Connek JA, a resource center for LGBTQIA+ Caribbean people worldwide, and Connecting Humanity. Come and experience sound healing, zine making, coalition building, and of course some delicious Caribbean food & drink.
