Poets House honors the life and work of prolific poet, scholar, and activist Fanny Howe, author of more than 20 books of poetry and prose. After initially dropping out of Stanford to join the civil rights movement, Howe taught literature at institutions across the country. She has mentored a generation of American poets and scholars working at the intersection of experimental writing and activism. Join us in honoring Howe’s lasting legacy with hosts Jennifer Tseng and Kazim Ali, as well as Maureen N. McLane, Rae Armantrout, Peter Gizzi, Carolyn Forché, Jeff Yang, Ben Doller, Xing Senna, and Howe herself.
