The Recess 2026 Session Open Call

Session offers artists time, space, and support to push the boundaries of their practice—not to present a finished exhibition, but to develop a living, evolving project in dialogue with others.

Selected artists receive:

• 1200 sq ft workspace in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn
• 6–10 weeks to develop a new inquiry-based project
• Artist honoraria, planning fees, project expenses, mentorship, and technical support
• Total support valued at approximately $22,500–$25,000
• Opportunities for public engagement, collaboration, and intentional exchange with the Recess community
