TFC x Culture Lab LIC Sculpture Garden

TF Cornerstone in collaboration with Culture Lab LIC, is launching another open call for public outdoor sculptures in the new public open space along the Long Island City waterfront, situated between 5203 and 5241 Center Blvd, Long Island City, NY, 11101.

Curretnly boasting an active sculpture garden the intention is to grow the outdoor garden welcoming three new works to the site.

The sculpture(s) will be on loan to the property for the duration of the exhibition and a $1,000 to $3,000 honorarium will be provided for the artist, depending on the size of the work. A plaque with the artist’s name, statement and sculpture(s) information will be on display. The sculpture(s) will be on loan for a period of time to be determined, and returned at the end of the contract.

Proposals will be reviewed and selected by TF Cornerstone and Culture Lab LIC. Sculptures must be original, durable, and safe for viewing by the public in an unsupervised natural area. They must be able to withstand extreme year-round weather conditions and tolerate strong winds. The costs for the transportation, installation and removal of the work will be covered by TFC.

Artists may submit proposals for a new or an existing work of art. Artists may also submit proposals for one sculpture or multiple sculptures. If you submit a proposal for a sculpture that is completed and available for this project, please indicate where the sculpture is currently stored or on display. If you submit a proposal for a new, to-be-created sculpture, please include images of the proposed design. All respondents should include links to your other works. Work by local artists in the Long Island City area will be prioritized in the selection process.
