The Programs Manager leads the development, execution, and evaluation of A4’s programs serving artists and arts organizations. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role works closely with the Communications Director, Development Manager, and interns/volunteers to advance a responsive, community-driven programming strategy. As a key member of a small, focused team, the Programs Manager plays a central role in shaping impactful initiatives and representing A4 within the broader arts/culture and AAPI community.
Responsibilities Include:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate A4’s overarching programming strategy, ensuring programs and new initiatives align with organizational vision and mission.
- Develop content/timelines, manage logistics, and oversee day-to-day details for programs such as Town Hall, ConversAAtions, career roundtables, and workshops.
- Lead the full lifecycle of fellowship and award programs, including application design and administration, jury recruitment and facilitation of review panels, and grantee communication and support,ensuring compliance with program requirements while maximizing grantee engagement and benefit from A4 resources
- Track, evaluate, and report on programmatic activities and data, including budgets, on a regular basis.
- Execute or manage all tasks associated with events including: run/supervise audio, video, and technical aspects of live events; archive and post event media; manage registration; set up A/V equipment in the event space and/or provide technical support over Zoom.
- Perform basic photography and videography tasks as needed and/or supervise interns and/or external vendors to document public programs.
- Maintain and cultivate new programmatic partners, government agencies, media and press, corporate partners, nonprofit partners, and other stakeholders.
- Identify and build relationships with thought leaders, professionals in the arts, community leaders and other constituents to participate in and/or lead A4 programs.
- Maintain and update the constituent database, ensuring accurate, up-to-date records to support outreach and strategic planning
- Coordinate with the Communications Manager for event promotion including: emails and press releases, social media assets, writing and editing event copy, and creating and managing event pages on the A4 website.
- Work closely with staff colleagues on the programmatic segments of fundraising events as well as other fundraising activities (including grant applications and reports) to resource, develop, and promote programs.
- Provide organizational management support including: coordinating website updates, managing subscriptions, assisting with communications tasks and outreach strategies, and serving as an A4 representative in the community and public forums as necessary.
- Stay informed on issues affecting the Asian American creative community and translate insights into responsive programs that better serve and support constituents.
- Supervise and mentor interns through onboarding, task management, and ongoing feedback to support their development and project outcomes.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Additional Information:
The Programs Manager is a full-time position (40 hours per week with occasional evenings offset by comp time) and reports to the Executive Director.
Salary range: $70,000 - $80,000 with competitive benefits package (100% paid health insurance, 401K match, paid vacation and sick leave, and more)

Requirements
- Highly organized and creative, with a strong passion for the arts and their role in a vibrant, healthy society
- Demonstrated commitment to the arts and/or Asian American communities preferred
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on arts programming experience, including some managerial responsibility
- Broad understanding of artists’ needs and nonprofit operations across disciplines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; collaborative and collegial approach, especially on a small team
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and follow through
- Familiarity with anti-oppression frameworks and social justice work is a plus
- Experience with tools such as CRM platforms (Neon CRM, a plus), Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and Analytics, and email marketing platforms preferred
