Job Summary
The Social Media Associate will play an active role in the development of Brooklyn Raga Massive’s online community. In the Spring of 2022, BRM will also be launching a new brand redesign that this role will help implement across our social media platforms. The role will entail maintaining BRM’s presence on these various platforms, collaborating with our Design Director and Communications Director on graphic design and social media asset creation, and helping to create and publish content that is relevant and engaging to our community of artists and audiences. This person will also assist in maintaining BRM’s archive of digital images, videos, and other content. We are a team of passionate, warm, and music-loving people and are excited to work with someone that also brings excitement and energy to the organization.

Responsibilities
-Social Media
-Updates on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts.
-Responds to posts or comments to bring value to user’s interactions with BRM.
-Posts updates, news and announcements on time using the appropriate content.
-Performs research to find articles, stories, resources, or other content that is relevant to our community and posts it to our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter page in a manner that invites conversation and interaction.
-Updates to social media accounts with current and relevant photos, video, or other content from BRM activities and events.
-Grows BRM online social networks by increasing fan base and interactions.
-Maintains current information in Google+ and LinkedIn accounts.
-Regularly observes the online activity of model organizations researches and reports on “social media best practices”.
-Reviews data (Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics) on the performance of social media platforms and adjusts plans or strategies to optimize reach.

Digital Media
-Uploads BRM photos and videos to our online storage platforms.
-Organizes and archives digital images and videos.
-Completes other digital media projects as assigned.

Graphic Design
-Helps Design Director implement branding guidelines on social media platforms and posts
-Draft social media posts within branding guidelines
-Draft other marketing materials in accordance with brand guidelines

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS
-Proficient knowledge of Adobe Suite (preferred)
-Creative self-starter comfortable with both taking initiative and working in collaboration.
-Strong writing skills, especially for short format platforms.
-Proficiency with social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn.
-Available to work 5-10 hours per week.

Term: Spring/Summer 2022 (start and end dates are flexible) with opportunity to extend through the winter 2022.

Compensation: $30/hour
