Programs Associate

CUE Art Foundation is an 18-year-old visual arts center dedicated to creating opportunities for emerging and under-recognized artists, curators, and writers through exhibitions, public programming, and arts education.

Role description
CUE seeks an experienced and motivated individual to work closely with the Programs Director and Programs & Communications Coordinator on administration for CUE’s core programs. The Programs Associate will gain hands-on experience with exhibitions, arts education, and event planning, and contribute to the ideation and development of CUE programs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Education and Professional Development
Manage the CUE Teen Collective arts education program, including the program recruitment and interview process, project budget management, annual exhibition and yearbook production, and artist teacher assistance as needed.
Coordinate Meeting Artists’ Needs workshops and events logistics, acting as the main point person for event organizers and guest speakers.

Exhibitions
Coordinate the annual Open Calls for solo exhibitions and curatorial projects.
Oversee catalogue production schedules and materials deadlines and copy edit texts.
Write press releases and organize and oversee exhibition video production.
Assist with exhibition installation logistics and attendance at opening receptions and programs.
Oversee logistics for off-site exhibitions.

Art Critic Mentoring Program
Coordinate the Art Critic Mentoring Program (ACMP), including outreach for 7 regional open calls annually.

Communications: :
Oversee communications and set schedules for promotion of all programs.
Manage the internship program with assistance from Programs Director and Programs & Communications Coordinator.

Requirements

Qualifications
Strong commitment to CUE’s mission and values.
1-2 years experience working in a gallery, museum, or non-profit environment in exhibitions or education departments.
A successful candidate will have a positive and flexible attitude, be extremely organized and detail-oriented, and have the ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with research and copy editing skills.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with Squarespace, Mailchimp, Zoom, YouTube Studio, and social media platforms is a bonus.
Prior experience with exhibition installations and/or event production (in-person and virtual) is preferred.
