The Chamber’s Community & Culture department includes the Arts + Business Council, which fosters collaboration and exchange between the arts and business communities, and the Young Professionals Council, which connects ambitious, visionary young people with a strong, diverse network of peers, mentors, and regional business and civic leaders. It also will include a series of events about how to fulfill the Chamber’s aspiration of making Philadelphia the healthiest and most livable city in the Northeast. Through the combination of leadership development, networking and discussions, Community & Culture will ensure continued improvements to the region’s quality of life that contribute to retaining and attracting businesses and workers.

We are currently seeking a Programs and Operations Assistant who will provide support for the organization’s programs, development and administrative needs. In addition to ensuring smooth and efficient operations within the organization, the Assistant will support ABC’s core programming. The Programs Assistant will also work closely with the ABC team to draft grant applications and reports, invoice/record sponsorship agreements, and manage the fundraising and reporting calendar. Moreover, this position will provide general administrative and operational support for ABC’s team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Programming

Assist with recruitment and outreach for programs and events.
Provide planning and logistical support for programs and events.
Assist with program alumni engagement strategies and execution.

Operations

Maintain current and accurate information in databases and client management systems.
Work collaboratively between ABC and The Chamber’s Program and Events team.
Assist with the preparation and coordination of internal and external meetings.
Provide scheduling support for the ABC team.

Grants and Sponsorship Support

Assist with drafting grant and sponsorship proposals and reports.
Conduct prospect research.
Assist with invoicing and sponsorship collection.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be an organized self-starter motivated by ABC’s mission of supporting a strong and vibrant creative economy. We seek candidates with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet programmatic needs. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Strong knowledge of and extensive use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of and experience with event planning, community outreach and graphic design a plus. A minimum of 1-3 years of professional experience in an office setting.
