The Chamber’s Community & Culture department includes the Arts + Business Council, which fosters collaboration and exchange between the arts and business communities, and the Young Professionals Council, which connects ambitious, visionary young people with a strong, diverse network of peers, mentors, and regional business and civic leaders. It also will include a series of events about how to fulfill the Chamber’s aspiration of making Philadelphia the healthiest and most livable city in the Northeast. Through the combination of leadership development, networking and discussions, Community & Culture will ensure continued improvements to the region’s quality of life that contribute to retaining and attracting businesses and workers.

We are currently seeking a Development Coordinator who will support the Community & Culture programming, which engages thousands of business leaders each year. By finding and building connections with businesses and soliciting sponsorship needed to execute programs, the Coordinator is critical to the success of Community & Culture initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Development

Research, prospect and connect with companies eager to support and engage in the Community & Culture’s programming.
Lead meetings with the VP, Community & Culture and businesses to discuss sponsorship and engagement opportunities.
Build relationships with, and develop engagement strategies for, the business community and broader ABC community.
Creatively envision sponsorship benefits and prepare sponsorship packages and documents.

Administrative

Ensure sponsorship benefits are met and reporting requirements are completed.
Prepare invoices and collect on payments owed.
Manage financial data and reporting through Financial Edge, meet or communicate with accounting team to ensure accurate financial records, invoicing, and collections.
Assist with the preparation of grant applications and reports.

Programming

Support the Community & Culture team as needed with logistical help around events such as Defining Innovation speaker series, Healthy & Livable events, and the 36th Annual Awards and professional development program execution.
Assist with program and event outreach and recruitment.

The ideal candidate brings the same approach to their collaboration with team members and program logistics and outreach.

Requirements

1-3 years of relevant work experience.
Sales-oriented mindset with high degree of comfort making cold calls.
Genuine excitement to connect businesses to the opportunities Community & Culture offers.
A self-starter who is able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong work ethic; approaches work with a sense of purpose and urgency.
A collaborative spirit.
