Founded in 1973 as Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, LMCC serves, connects, and makes space for artists and community. LMCC seeks two (2) permanent full-time Program Associates, Artist Services as integral members of the Artist Services department. Program Associate responsibilities focus on LMCC’s Artist Residencies or Grants programs and work closely with the Program Manager, Artist Residencies or Program Manager, Grants & Services respectively under the guidance of the Director of Artist Services in the design and execution of LMCC’s multi-disciplinary artist residency programs and community-based arts and arts-education regranting programs.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinates a portfolio of artist services programs, primarily artist residencies or regrant programs Coordinates the application process, including development of guidelines and application forms, inquiry-fielding, information sessions, meetings, and technical assistance Coordinates the application review and selection process, including application processing, staff review, jury planning, meeting logistics, and notification Acts as primary liaison for applicants, program participants, program-related outreach and service partners, departmental and organizational activities Works closely with Program Manager in the cultivation of a diverse applicant pool; and in identifying and addressing administrative and policy issues
- Coordinates and acts as primary contact for program participants on program logistics and compliance, including intake, contracting, site visits, and reporting
- Supports planning and implementation of cohort oriented convenings and annual celebration
- Supports Program Manager in tracking departmental timelines and deadlines
- Compiles program statistics and maintains program data to inform program evaluation and internal and external reporting
- Acts as departmental liaison to Institutional Advancement department for program participant promotion and events calendar
- Coordinates with Institutional Advancement team to develop program for the LMCC website and other online platforms
- Creates and maintains program records, including paper and electronic files, databases and other administrative systems
- Researches and contributes to informational resources for artists and arts groups as needed
- Participates in departmental planning
- Other duties as assigned
The Program Associates assist in supervising seasonal interns.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in the nonprofit field or related fields.
- 2 years experience in the field; previous arts or grant management experience preferred.
- Knowledge of the artistic disciplines LMCC presents and communities it serves. Familiarity with the range of services and resources available to artists and arts organizations.
- Excellent organizational, written and verbal skills.
- Ability to multi-task and maintain keen attention to detail.
- Ability to be graceful and diplomatic in maintaining various business relationships.
- Proficiency using Apple computers and with applications such as Adobe Creative Suite programs, Submittable, Salesforce and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
