Requirements

Participation in the program is a yearlong commitment from September 2026 to August 2027. While NEW INC journeys vary from Member to Member, average participation in the program looks like four to eight hours of engagement per week and includes the option to work from their space. Most NEW INC offerings are Monday–Friday, 10am–6pm ET.

Members do not have to be based in New York to pursue a membership, as many of the offerings are hybrid. When in New York, Members will have access to our new workspace facilities in the New Museum.

Applicants should be aligned with NEW INC’s values of collectivism, experimentation, interdisciplinary collaboration, stewardship, and social justice.

Membership is not open to students or people enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs. However, those completing dissertation work as part of a PhD program may be considered.

Membership

$75/person/month

Payment Schedule

Monthly installments are due on the first of each month via our payment portal. September’s fee is due upon signing of the Member contract. Then, payments will automatically recur on the first of every month, starting October of that year.

One-Time Set-Up Fee

To secure membership, each Member is additionally required to pay a non-refundable, one-time, set-up fee of $150. Returning Members are not required to pay this fee.

Joining NEW INC is a yearlong commitment, with dues collected in 12 equal monthly installments. Teams are required to pay for each team member (i.e., a team of three joining NEW INC must enroll all three team members for membership). The cost of participation is a cost-share between NEW INC, the New Museum, and Members. All memberships are subsidized through institutional support.
