With support from the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Translating Migration brings together the voices of migrant poets globally with the goal of expanding opportunities for creative expression.

Anyone who identifies as a migrant is invited to submit their original poetry for publication, which will be reviewed and translated by established poets and translators. Poets selected will also receive funding and assistance to organize a poetry workshop for migrants in their communities.

English poetry submissions are accepted, but non-English poetry is especially welcome.

Requirements

Deadline to submit: January 15, 2020. Submissions reviewed on a rolling basis. Submission form available at translatingmigration.com/submit.

All self-identified migrants are welcome to submit poetry.

Poetry submitted must be original and unpublished work.

Poetry may be submitted in any language and, if selected, will be translated into English for publication.

Poets must be willing to organize a writing workshop in their community. Funding will be provided to cover all necessary costs.
