The NARS Foundation is pleased to announce its upcoming program on Governors Island, that will host 2 exhibitions at 404 A Colonels Row, in Fall, 2020. The NARS Satellite Program for Curatorial Proposals offers an opportunity for two NY based collectives or individuals to organize a conceptually cohesive group show surrounding the themes of ‘Territory’ and ‘Memory’, at the NARS Foundation Satellite space on Governors Island. The selected proposal will take in an account at least one of the following aspects: The colonial and indigenous history of the island; its military background; the changes in the land, landscape, and architecture; and the environmental aspects surrounding the island. Site-specific projects are encouraged.

NARS will start receiving applications from March x to April 20, and the results will be announced in mid May.

Requirements

Eligibility & Requirements

-Only one application per curator, independently or in a collective.
-Curator may NOT be an exhibiting artist in the proposed exhibition.
-Curatorial proposals must contain a minimum of two artists.
-Proposed artists should be notified in advance of applying and have expressed interest and availability for the exhibition
