Organizational Summary:
Playwrights Horizons is a writer’s theater dedicated to the support and development of contemporary U.S. playwrights, composers and lyricists, and to the production of their new work.

Reports to:
Manager of Individual Giving

Position Summary:
Playwrights Horizons seeks a collaborative, passionate, and self-starting individual who will be an integral member of the Development team! Reporting to the Individual Giving Manager, the Individual Giving Associate will focus on annual fund activities as part of a seven-person departmental team, raising funds through a variety of different efforts.

Responsibilities:
In coordination with Individual Giving Manager, develop and execute Annual Fund plan including digital and direct mail renewal, acquisition campaigns, and monthly giving including full campaign analysis
Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward a personal portfolio of prospects with the potential to give under $1,000 annually and/or join donor programs.
Manage annual solicitation, cultivation and stewardship of Patron and Generation PH members and prospects
Work to identify annual fund donors with additional capacity and work with the Individual Giving Manager and Development Director to move these donors through the cultivation pipeline
Support event planning including donor cultivation events, annual gala and other special events
Support annual online auction, including the procurement of auction items and coordination with online auction vendor
Oversee donor management system including ensuring consistent entry and tracking and the building and maintenance of online donation pages
Serve as backup on donor ticket requests

Required Qualifications:
Three to five years of relationship building and front line solicitation, sales experiences or other transferable skill
Understanding of Playwrights Horizons’ mission, values and the ability to be an effective spokesperson
Demonstrated success cultivating and stewarding strong relationships with donors, prospects or customers leading to successful realization of funding or sales goals
Self-starter with a strong work ethic and a fine-tuned attention to detail who can work independently and with a team to set priorities, plan for, manage, and quickly adapt as necessary to implement multiple projects in a fast-paced setting
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
Experience in budget management a plus
Database experience (Tessitura preferred)

Work from the office a minimum of 3 days per week
Able to work nights and very occasionally on weekends

Salary: $55,000
