Interested in the intersection of climate issues, filmmaking, and creative communication? Join Here On Earth to learn hands-on film skills, help organize events, and produce your very own creative project for a final showcase. The winter internship term will go from November 22nd to January 17th. There will be weekly Friday film skills workshops, monthly speaker and film screening events, field trips, and more. Please note: The internship is a significant time commitment. Interns are expected to attend all weekly workshops, monthly events and field trips, and complete their project in a timely manner.
Learning Outcomes
- Filmmaking skills (shooting, editing, project planning, storyboarding, animation, etc.)
- Event planning, organizing, marketing and outreach experience
- Research skills regarding environmental issues and solutions
- Networking opportunities with climate NGOs
- Film festival 101
Weekly Commitment
- Fridays 5-8pm - workshops and event support
- Plus 2-3 hours of independent project/assignment work time
Responsibilities
- Participate in film skills workshops, studio hours, field trips
- Assist with hands-on event coordination
- Produce a final creative project for a final showcase and submit to film festivals
Requirements
- Interest in the arts and/or nonprofit sector, and climate issues
- No film experience needed
- Willingness to collaborate and learn with others
