Hanwha Foundation of Culture, a 501©(3) nonprofit, is seeking an Exhibition & Operations Manager to join their small, dynamic team at Space ZeroOne in Tribeca, New York. Reporting to the Curator/Head of ZeroOne, this full-time (exempt) role oversees artwork and exhibition installations as well as the day-to-day operations of the gallery. The Manager ensures that all exhibitions meet the highest professional standards, that the venue is safe, functional, and well-maintained, and that artists, curators, and external partners are fully supported throughout the project lifecycle. The position combines hands-on technical work with operational planning, vendor coordination, and basic facilities management.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Exhibition & Operations Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Manage exhibition production timelines, budgets, and fabrication with artists and vendors.
• Coordinate shipping, crating, customs, and storage for artworks locally and internationally.
• Source and oversee fabricators, multimedia technicians, photographers, and other production support staff.
• Draft and track loan contracts; liaise with collaborating organizations, galleries, institutions, and lenders.
• Prepare and monitor condition reports, insurance coverage, and installation/deinstallation schedules.
• Arrange photography of exhibitions and implement security measures as needed
• Oversee deliveries, scheduling, and site access to ensure safe exhibition setup and event operations.
• Provide on-site oversight during openings and public programs.
• Oversee daily maintenance of exhibitions, gallery, and office, including minor repairs, lighting, AV.
• Ensure compliance with FDNY, DOB, and building regulations; manage permits and inspections.
• Track and restock facilities supplies and equipment as needed.
• Oversee daily opening and closing procedures, building access, and basic IT troubleshooting.
• Coordinate services for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security, pest control, and cleaning.
• Manage vendor schedules, invoices, and insurance documentation.
• When programming is on view: manage front desk operations, ensuring visitors are welcomed, inquiries are addressed, and daily opening and closing procedures are properly carried out.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
• Preferred 5+ years of experience in gallery, art museum or similar roles
• Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire/life safety systems
• Experience coordinating vendors and external contractors
• Comfort using Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
• Ability to lift/move up to 30 lbs and work evenings/weekends as needed
• Valid driver’s license preferred
WORK SCHEDULE (with a one-hour unpaid break)
• During exhibitions: Tue–Sat, 10:00 am–6:00 pm
• No exhibitions: Mon–Fri, 10:00 am–6:00 pm
• Evenings and weekends as needed for installations, events, or emergencies
• Rotating on-call duties as required
