Executive Leadership

National Sawdust, a music incubator and performance space in Brooklyn, is looking for its next executive leader to match this next moment in its evolution by working in partnership with both Composer, Co-Founder & Artistic Director Paola Prestini, and the highly dedicated and skilled NS team and board lead its strategic fundraising, planning, and board development. Salary starts at $150,000 and the goal is to complete the transition by the end of 2022.

- Passionate supporter and advocate of music and the arts based in NY
- Democratic, collaborative, and creative leadership style
- Dedicated believer in actively working with and inspiring teams and boards, while building a culture of cooperation and joy
- Commitment to deliver on budget and financial needs by delivering personally, and elevating and actively engaging teams to achieve their results
- Enjoyment, sense of urgency and demonstrated experience in fundraising, capital campaigns, and general revenue generation–especially individual, corporate, earned and HNWI stakeholders
- Experience in developing budgets & managing P&L’s in both non/for profit organizations
- High level of emotional intelligence to integrate into arts and culture sector and an organization with a diversity of views, opinions and styles

Requirements

Specific skills/characteristics a plus:
- Ability to work flex-schedule to accommodate seasonality of programming schedules, and in person needs of cultivating donors and partners
- Excitement to innovate and experiment across all functions of an organization– from creative revenue generation with funders and brands to marketing and digital expansion, development and financial management and reporting
- Deep commitment to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) and an understanding of the impact and value of this commitment on the cultural sector’s ecosystem and NS’s mission, vision, and values
