Organizational Summary:
Playwrights Horizons is a writer’s theater dedicated to the support and development of
contemporary American playwrights, composers, and lyricists, and to the production of their new work.

Reports to:
Director of Marketing

Duties & Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Assistant is an essential, execution-
focused team member dedicated to helping us articulate our mission and our programming to and across key internal and external audiences and stakeholders. This core function will be
accomplished through a variety of channels, including institutional publications and content
publishing, social media, e-mail, our website and more! This is a great opportunity for an
emerging marketing professional with exceptional attention to detail who is not afraid to take initiative within a fast-paced, congenial, and tight-knit marketing and communications team.
● Assist with overall department project management and task tracking, as well as
performing duties critical to creative and campaign project execution and delivery;
● In collaboration with the Directors of Marketing & Communications, administer and assist
with execution of the company’s content calendar for both social media posts (across
Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) and email blasts (deployed on a weekly basis);
● Monitor and report on the performance of PH’s online platforms including the website,
email, digital advertising, videos, social media, etc.;
● In collaboration with the Graphic Design Manager, manage the layout, editing, and
production process of company’s digital and printed performance program;
● In collaboration with the Director of Communications, manage the company’s website
content, build new pages as needed, and edit and provide the copy therein;
● Steward the online and print publication of content for our literary magazine, Almanac,
including communications with the artistic department and individual playwrights and
commissioned artists, as necessary;
● Layout and design all Productions in Print / Preview Editions for PH’s Stage to Page
bookshop. Oversee relationship with publisher, monitor inventory, track sales (historical
and current) and financials;
● Collect artist bios and work with external press agent to route, copy edit, and track the
progress of press releases and production program drafts through the organization;
● In concert with Audience Services Manager, administer all list trades and rentals, as well
as e-blast exchanges, through Audience 360, Enertex, and other methods;
● In partnership with the Audience Services Manager, compile complete and accurate data
from customers, ensuring quality data maintenance within Tessitura
● Track department expenses across multiple shows and campaigns, including credit card
reconciliation reporting;
● Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:
● Exemplary written and verbal communication
● An understanding of the value of using data to drive decisions in an arts environment
● Knowledge of social media channels; experience in Facebook Ads Manager is a plus
● Knowledge of Google Drive and its various programs (Docs, Sheets, etc)

Compensation:

Salary: $45,000
