Columbia MFA Short Film: Casting Asian Male Actor (Late 30s-50s)

Currently casting for a Columbia University MFA short film and are seeking an Asian male actor (late 30s–50s) based in the New York City area.

• Shoot Date: Sunday, December 14, 2025
• Location: Harlem, New York City
• Rehearsals: Late November to early December (dates TBD)

This is a non-union/union, unpaid student production under the SAG Student Film Agreement (if applicable). Meals, credit, and a copy of the finished film will be provided.

Logline:

A young con man tries to sell a fake sneaker to an unsuspecting reseller, sparking a tense yet comedic showdown over authenticity and ambition.

Requirements

• Must be available Sunday, December 14, 2025
• Must be able to travel to New York City for the shoot and rehearsals
• Must be available for 3–4 rehearsals prior to filming
