Hi-ARTS is currently seeking actors to participate in rehearsals and a staged reading. This temporary position will support Hi-ARTS’ CRITICAL BREAKS Artist Luz Lorenzana Twigg during her April 2026 Residency. This is an onsite in-person position taking place primarily at L10 Arts and Cultural Center in Downtown Brooklyn, home of Hi-ARTS, April 15-April 30.

Requirements

Role Descriptions
CARLOS - [late 20s, Filipino, male] immigrant, itinerant day-laborer, self-educated writer, deeply passionate about the idea of America and the rights of Filipinos, union organizer. Good at heart but fierce when pushed.

MACARIO - [30s, Filipino, male] Carlos’ older brother, educated, kind and generous, thwarted dreams of becoming a civil servant, deferential, big heart with big ideas.

JOSE - [30s, Filipino, male] Carlos’ best friend, deeply loyal, fun-loving, romantic, cavalier, a womanizer, a true believer in the cause, definitely an alcoholic.

NICK - [late 20s, Filipino, male or masc-presenting nonbinary] Jose’s younger brother, youthful but focused, a team player, cynical but responsible, probably an alcoholic.
