Call for Art "SOS Installment II : Where We Land"

“Strings of Stories” is a curated exhibition series dedicated to honoring and amplifying the history, memories, and lived realities of communities targeted by oppression, displacement, tyranny, famine, and more. Their upcoming exhibition, “Where We Land” will honor creative voices of immigrants and children of immigrants through different mediums of art that show the life, struggle, and experience of immigrants across NYC. They are now accepting art submissions for this exhibition, open to a wide range of mediums including photography, zines, stickers, embroidery, textiles, drawings, poetry, memoirs, paintings, and more.

SUBMISSIONS DUE BY JULY 1ST, 2026

PLEASE NOTE: submissions by artists who are immigrants and/or children of immigrants based in New York City will only be accepted.

If you would like to submit different pieces of work, please submit a new form for each (this is not needed for work that is part of one collection).

You will have to drop off your art by July 28th at 1:00pm.

To pick up your art after the exhibition, pickups will be on July 30th from 8pm-9:00pm at Seven House Gallery (35 Meadow St, Brooklyn, NY 11206)

Examples may include:

• Painting
• Sculpture
• Embroidery
• Photography
• Literature (such as a poem, story, essay or a memoir)
• Drawing
• Zine
• Mixed Media
• Stickers
• Digital Illustration

Requirements

Please be ready to share any of your social handles, contact info, or portfolio/website (this is for verification purposes)
-Identify as an immigrant and/or child of immigrants.
-Be based in New York City.
