Keepsake House is currently looking for Storytellers to perform at Queens Storytelling Festival on Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13 at Queens-based venues, such as Q.E.D. Astoria and more. The Queens Storytelling Festival is an all-day to late-night festival featuring local NYC storytellers. Festival programs include live performances, panelists who will discuss their craft and writing, and opportunities to connect with other local artists. More themes may be curated, but the overarching theme remains as “Queens:” the place, the women, the icons, however you choose to define it.
Requirements
Here is what they’re looking for from Storyteller performers:
- They love poets, comedians, actors, business owners… someone who has a unique story to tell and wants to share it!
- Preferably someone who has experience performing their work live, and has a concisely timed or themed story in the works.
- They actively seek out BIPOC and LGTBQ+ artists to be part of our shows and show preference toward community builders who are excited to join the Keepsake family of artists.
Application Instructions
All artists will be compensated for their performance, to be determined once artists are selected and budget is finalized. Applications are rolling and will close on or before Friday, July 17. They recommend submitting your application as soon as possible to ensure consideration.
