ELSEHERE - International Art Label & Culture Platform
Role: Artist Relations and Operations
Type: Core Collaborator, credit based
Location: Remote (US, Europe, Asia time zones welcome)
Languages: Fluent English. Chinese strongly preferred.

ELSEHERE is an international art label and culture platform. ELSEHERE produces, presents, and preserves works that expand the edges of contemporary expression across visual, kinetic, performative, and digital forms. Through a curatorial network across the United States, Europe, and Asia, ELSEHERE is building an artist centered international ecosystem where diverse practices can move, be documented, and enter into dialogue across borders and contexts.

About the Role:

This is the point of contact between ELSEHERE and its artists. You will help bring artists and writers into the ecosystem, and support the transformation of their materials into curated presentations, dossiers, and publications.
It is ideal for someone who enjoys both people and communication.

You will be the person who:

  • Welcomes artists into the label
  • Helps their work travel through the ELSEHERE ecosystem
  • Makes sure that agreements, materials, and timelines are clear and respected

If you:

  • Enjoy communicating with artists and cultural workers
  • Can be warm and human, but also precise and reliable
  • Like organizing information, timelines, and details

This role puts you at the center of how ELSEHERE operates.

Key Responsibilities: You will work directly with the Founder and with the Visual and Editorial teams.

Artist communication and onboarding

  • Communicate with selected artists about invitations, selection, and next steps
  • Send and track presentation and usage agreements
  • Answer basic questions about scope, exposure, and process
  • Help artists feel that they are being taken seriously and carefully held

Materials, archives, and metadata:

  • Collect images, videos, texts, bios, and metadata from artists
  • Check that required materials are complete and properly labeled
  • Maintain an organized archive of artist folders, links, and documents
  • Coordinate with Visual and Editorial collaborators so that everyone has the right materials

Scheduling and release coordination:

  • Help build and maintain a simple schedule for when artists and works are introduced online
  • Track what is in progress, what is ready, and what needs follow up
  • Make sure communication with artists about launch timing is clear and respectful

Agreements and basic operations:

  • Help send, receive, and file signed agreements with artists
  • Maintain simple records of who has agreed to what and when
  • Support the building of an internal database for artists, works, and opportunities
  • Occasionally help forward or log international opportunities that may be relevant to artists in the label

Requirements

We imagine you as someone who:

  • Likes talking and writing to people, especially artists and cultural workers
  • Writes clear, polite, and professional emails in English, and ideally in Chinese as well
  • Is attentive to details: names, dates, titles, links, attachments, file formats
  • Feels responsible when someone is waiting for an answer or an update
  • Is comfortable with basic tools like Google Drive, Notion, spreadsheets, and shared folders
  • Enjoys being in a support and coordination role, without needing to be in the spotlight
  • Wants to be close to the core of how an international art label is built

This role is especially suitable for emerging professionals in arts management, cultural management, curatorial studies, performance studies, media and communications, or similar fields who want real experience working with artists across regions.

Collaboration model and benefits: In ELSEHERE’s founding phase, this is an unpaid, credit based collaboration at a core level.

In return, ELSEHERE offers:

  • Official bilingual credit as Artist Relations and Operations on projects you support
  • Real experience in artist communication, onboarding, and coordination with an international label
  • Strong portfolio content and experience that can be cited in applications to festivals, institutions, graduate programs, and employers
  • Where institutional frameworks allow it, the possibility of internship or independent study confirmation and recommendation letters
  • Priority consideration for future paid roles in artist relations, operations, or production coordination as ELSEHERE grows
  • Direct collaboration with the Founder and with the core creative team, in a setting that will value your judgement and reliability
  • This role is for someone who wants to grow into being a trusted operational and relational backbone in the art and culture field
