POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
OPERATIONS & FACILITIES ASSISTANT

POSTING DATE: 9/21/20
STATUS: Part-Time, Hourly

Ars Nova seeks a detail-oriented, determined, reliable Operations & Facilities Assistant to provide on-site custodial services. Reporting to the Operations and Facilities Manager, the Assistant serves as an indispensable support to the theater’s administrative team, serving as their eyes, ears and hands across all maintenance and repair projects in two multi-use, expansive venues across Manhattan.

Ars Nova exists to discover, develop and launch singular theater, comedy and music artists in the early stages of their careers. We were founded as a playground and launchpad for emerging artists to create new work, with a dual mission to build the next generation of audiences for live entertainment by prioritizing a zeitgeist-forward aesthetic and marrying it with accessible ticket prices. Today, Ars Nova is known for its “pop-culture-savvy experimentation, with a hipness that sets it apart” (New York Times).

The Operations & Facilities Assistant joins the five-person General Management Team, which is responsible for line-producing/company managing our Off Broadway productions, as well as the finance, facilities, IT and HR functions for our $4m organization with 18 full-time employees.

Ars Nova recognizes both that it is a predominantly white organization and that historic institutional practices have led to an exclusionary and harmful environment for Black, Indigenous and People of Color. We are actively working to become a more diverse, anti-racist, inclusive organization in all ways, across all our activities. Unraveling systems of power and privilege requires active engagement across our community of stakeholders and we acknowledge the complexity of the work ahead. We strongly encourage candidates of color, and/or from diverse backgrounds/underrepresented groups to apply.
