On behalf of US Architects Declare, The Architectural League seeks to hire a full-time Architects Declare Fellow, to begin work September 8, 2020. The Fellow will act as support staff to US Architects Declare and its three working groups, on Carbon, Justice, and Biodiversity. The Fellow will work remotely; no specific geographic location is required.

The goal of the Fellow’s work is to maximize the impact of US Architects Declare by providing intellectual and logistical support to the volunteer organization of architects and organizational partners that comprise the Architects Declare network. US Architects Declare expects to dramatically increase its number of signatories and its activities over the course of the fall and the coming year. Typical tasks for the Fellow will include helping set the agenda for steering committee and working group meetings, as well as scheduling and documenting the meetings; supporting the working groups as they define and execute projects, which may range from identifying and working with policy partners to advocate for change in local and national agendas, to shaping and presenting educational programs to build knowledge among US Architects Declare signatories and other audiences; and organizing, creating, and monitoring press contacts and social media.

Requirements

Applicants should be recent graduates in architecture or related fields, with demonstrated commitment to activism, research, or educational programming on climate change, biodiversity, and social and environmental justice. Preferred qualifications and experience include: M Arch or similar; facility in web and graphic design; highly organized; enjoys dealing with wide variety of people; adept at organizing and facilitating productive meetings. We strongly encourage people of color, LGBTQ individuals, people with disabilities, and others who may contribute to the diversity of perspectives driving this work. The pay range for the position is $50,000-$55,000, depending on experience. Compensation will also include health insurance and paid time off (vacation, sick days, and personal days).
