Apply to Exhibit: East Village Zine Fair

Printed Matter / St Marks and 8-Ball Community are thrilled to announce the 2023 East Village Zine Fair!

The 2023 EVZF will take place Saturday June 24 on St Marks Place, between 1st and 2nd Avenues—right outside the Printed Matter / St Marks storefront. The fair extends beyond St Marks Pl into neighboring community gardens where we host a full program of events (musical performances, workshops, readings…) throughout the day.

EVZF is book focused and will—of course!—center zines and zine-based projects. However, we welcome applications presenting a dedication to the ethos of independent and DIY publishing more broadly, even if outside of typical zine form. Applicants must be based in New York City. We anticipate receiving far more applications of merit than we will be able to accept. Our foremost goals are to continue to create opportunities for artists’ book publishers through visibility and distribution, organize fairs that are representative of the richness and diversity in publishing, encourage conversation and exchange, and to nurture new and long-standing relationships.
