A.R.T./New York is launching three grant programs providing flexible, general operating support to small theatres. The NYSCA-A.R.T./New York Creative Opportunity Fund provides grants of $2,000-$5,000 to theatres throughout New York State with annual budgets of under $500,000. The Strengthening NYC Theatres Grant Program (formerly the Nancy Quinn Fund) gives New York City-based theatres with annual budgets under $250,000 one-year grants of $1000-$2000. And in a new partnership with the Howard Gilman Foundation, the New York City Small Theatres Fund will provide around 10 New York City theatres with annual budgets under $250,000 with two-year general operating support grants of $5,000-$10,000 annually.

All three grants will be open to any theatre(s) that meet the eligibility requirements; A.R.T./New York membership is not required. Applicants who receive funding through any of these funding programs who have not been an A.R.T./New York member in the past five years will receive a free year of membership as part of their grant award.

Application Instructions

To support applicants in submitting to these funding programs, A.R.T./New York is launching a common application this year. Applicants will submit a single application this fall that will be considered for any and all of the three grant programs they are eligible for. All applications will be submitted through A.R.T./New York’s online grant portal. Applications will be accepted through December 14, 2021, at 5:00 pm.
