The Creative Equations Fund is an investment strategy dedicated to arts for social justice. Inspired by artists’ work, peer-funded models, as well as a grassroots legacy of intersectional community empowerment, this initiative is driven by our values around justice, equity, and sustainability. The Fund builds capacity for creativity, arts-driven social justice, and community impact. Brooklyn-based artists, small arts organizations, cultural entrepreneurs, and researchers dedicated to social justice are welcome to apply. There are four different categories, each with their own dedicated application, listed below.

JUSTICE, EQUITY, & SUSTAINABILITY + PERFORMING ARTS
Grant Amount: $10,000 each for 21 individuals & small organizations
- For Brooklyn-based performing artists and small performing arts organizations dedicating their creativity to social justice. Funded by the Howard Gilman Foundation.

CULTURAL HERITAGE & DIVERSITY + DANCE
Grant Amount: $10,000 each for 4 Cultural Heritage dance practitioners or researchers
- For Brooklyn-based Cultural Heritage dance artists and small dance organizations whose practice explores immigration, preservation, innovation, or research. Funded by the Mertz Gilmore Foundation.

SOCIAL INNOVATION + CULTURAL ENTREPRENEURS
Grant Amount: $10,000 each for 2 cultural entrepreneurs
- For Brooklyn-based social venture entrepreneurs creatively using art - processes, assets, resources – to generate profit and social good. Funded by Hopestreet.

ADVOCACY + IMMIGRANT VOICES
Grant Amount: $2,500 each for 6 immigrant artists
- For Brooklyn-based artists to create work that incorporates New American Economy Research Fund’s research data points to amplify the cultural and economic contributions of immigrants to communities. Funded by New American Economy (NAE).
