Celebrating our ten-year anniversary, Photoville will once again combine online gatherings and outdoor exhibitions presented across New York City’s five boroughs.

Since our very first festival in Brooklyn Bridge Park, back in 2012, we have prided ourselves on bringing exciting and challenging stories by thousands of photographers, curators, and organizations to New York City audiences annually.

This year, working with Brooklyn Bridge Park, NYC Parks, and city officials and partners, we plan to once again safely install exhibitions throughout parks and public spaces citywide. The exhibitions will remain on view for several months so that communities can enjoy them while using these open spaces as a place to recharge, exercise, and relax.

Our ever-popular talks, workshops, and community events will take place online this fall, and we have decided that if we do host any in-person gatherings, they will be announced later in the summer pending City guidance on COVID protocols for events.

Last year, over 500,000 visitors engaged with our public exhibitions in the five boroughs. This year, we hope to grow even further. Even though there will again be no shipping containers, we look forward to fostering this expanded opportunity for connection and public conversation.

The deadline to submit a proposal for Photoville’s 10th-anniversary edition is April 30, 2021. We do encourage early submissions, as we are already starting to discuss and lock in projects and spaces.

We can’t wait to see what you all have in store for us, and can’t wait to present it to the public in the Fall!
