NEW INC's Year 8 Open Call

NEW INCs Annual Open Call for Year 8 (Sept 2021-August 2022) incubator members is live through April 20.

NEW INC is a shared workspace and incubator program supporting an anti-disciplinary community of individuals, small teams and collectives. The year-long incubator program runs September-August, and is designed to support people working at the intersection of art, design and technology as they pursue a sustainable practice or bring a new business to life. We are based in NYC, but welcome virtual participation.

WE ARE SEEKING: People in art, tech, and design looking to build or sustain their practices as they explore: extended realities, climate futures, internet-based art practice, monument and archive making, or new models for wealth, health, and justice.

WHAT’S NEW FOR YEAR 8:
Virtual offering: To expand our offering to a greater community of people, we will continue to offer our programming activities virtually throughout next year.

Workspace: We anticipate being able to reopen our shared workspace by winter 2022.

Focus Tracks:
* Art & Code: Redefining the artistic landscape through internet-based practice, in partnership with Rhizome.
* Creative Science: Exploring climate futures at the junction of art and science, supported by Science Sandbox, an initiative of the Simons Foundation.
* Collective Abundance: Creatively re-imagining new models for wealth, health, and justice.
* Extended Realities: Pushing the artistic limits of technology that blurs the physical and digital worlds, in cooperation with ONX Studio.
* Future Memory: Shaking up dominant narratives and re-defining community power.
