Women's Breakfast: Self-Care for All

Thursday, February 17, 2022
9 – 10AM

Too often, when we hear “self-care”, we conjure up images of expensive yoga retreats, green juice cleanses and $100+ moisturizers. All of these items undoubtedly fall under the category of caring for oneself, but they are not always accessible to those of us who need strategies and resources to help our mental health ASAP.

At LMHQ’s February Women’s Breakfast, we will be shining a spotlight on practices, skills and products you can use to build out an accessible, sustainable routine to take care of yourself mentally and physically. From energy healing to CBD to movement as medicine, our expert practitioners will help you figure out what works best for you so you can always put on your oxygen mask before helping others.

Speakers include:

Seven Brown, Founder of Luna Wellness
Amy Chin, Licensed CBD/Cannabis Coach and Founder of Calm Better Days
Kelly Roberts, Head Coach and Creator, Badass Lady Gang

About Our Speakers:

Seven Brown has more than twenty-five years of experience within the beauty and wellness industries. Her international certifications expand to over 38 countries as both Energy Healer & Esthetician. Seven has made helping people find balance inside & out of her life’s work. A fabulous and fit mother of four, grandmother to five, and as a survivor of domestic violence, she is a passionate supporter and champion of all organizations charged to reduce violence and trauma of any kind. Pre-pandemic Seven owned a full-service skincare and laser facility in Harlem for ten years. The Harlem Skin & Laser Clinic served both men and women and enjoyed a varied clientele that included New Yorkers, travelers visiting the city, and well-known personalities. Widely known as the “premier skin of color clinic,” Seven and her clinic were prominently featured in Time Magazine, on MSNBC, and channel 7 Eyewitness News, Nylon, Allure, Pure Wow, American Spa, Bride, as well as several other publications and media outlets.

Amy Chin has suffered from anxiety and postpartum depression. She found great relief with CBD. It can be challenging to get started with plant medicine. To help, Calm Better Days guides CBD-curious folks on how to access the benefits of plant medicine. From how CBD works in our body, understanding the nuances of different delivery methods, and figuring out your ideal dosage. With Calm Better Days, you’ll receive a tailored recommendation of CBD products to address those issues. Calm Better Days is a huge supporter of small farms, women, and BIPOC owned brands.

Kelly Roberts is a head coach and creator of Badass Lady Gang. Kelly Roberts’ pre-BALG fitness routine consisted mostly of struggling through the elliptical and trying to shrink her body. It wasn’t until hitting post-college life, poised with a theatre degree, student loans, and the onset of panic, that she found running. Running forced Kelly to ditch perfectionism and stomp out fear of failure. Viral selfies from the NYC Half Marathon struck a chord with women who could relate to the struggle, and soon the Badass Lady Gang was born. BALG is about enjoying life with a side of running. Kelly’s philosophy measures success by the confidence gained, not pounds lost. Kelly is an RRCA certified coach and has completed Dr. Stacy Sims ‘Women Are Not Small Men’ certification course helping coaches better serve their female athletes. Over the years Kelly has coached thousands of women from brand new runners to those chasing Boston marathon qualifying times, appeared on the cover of Women’s Running Magazine, joined Nike at the Women’s World Cup, and created a worldwide movement called the Sports Bra Squad.
