Tribeca 2026 | "Born to Kill" Screening & Free Community After-Party

Saturday, June 13, 2026
7 – 10PM

Director Sally Trần and co-producer Jessica Lưu Pelletier are coming together to host a free community after-party at Sugar Mouse (NYC) to celebrate the World Premiere of their short doc film “BORN TO KILL,” which will be screening at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival!

About the film:
“BORN TO KILL” is a mixed-media short documentary combining live action, archival footage, and animation to explore the untold stories of Vietnamese refugees in New York City after the Fall of Saigon. Through four interconnected lives—Len, Teardrop, Jimmy, and Bang—the film moves between memory and reconstruction. As Len reaches for a fragile future, the others are drawn into the Born to Kill gang, founded by David Thai as both brotherhood and retaliation in a city that rejected them. Their code, Tình Tiền Tội (Love, Money, Sin), becomes a framework of loyalty, violence, and survival.

Both screenings are currently sold out, but rush tickets are available!

Free community after-party:
While both screenings are currently sold out, Tran and Pelletier invite folks to join their free entry after-party following the last screening. The event will take place from 7–10pm on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Sugar Mouse, 47 3rd Avenue, Lower Level, New York, NY 10003.

Built to immerse audiences into the world of the film, they will be joined by Azn Americana, Việt Salon, and Việt Creative Society as community partners, with Sang Oh (the film’s illustrator) offering a portrait booth, Vietnamese savory and sweet foods from Thèm and Mật & Butter, games from Bo & Mei, live music, and more!

Kindly RSVP on Partiful to assist with headcount. They hope to see you there!
