The Sixth AIM Biennial (Part Two)
7 – 9PM
All are invited to join in celebrating the opening of Bronx Calling: The Sixth AIM Biennial (Part Two) at The Bronx Museum on Friday, April 12 from 7 to 9 PM! The party is free to attend, but please let us know if you plan on coming with an RSVP.
The exhibition features work by 27 artists who participated in the Museum’s flagship AIM Fellowship—an annual professional development program for artists based in NYC—in 2020, 2021, or 2023:
Priscilla Aleman, Mickey Aloisio, Roni Aviv, Samantha Box, Ivana Brenner, Nicki Cherry, Christina Freeman, Sarah Friedland, Kat Geng-Caraballo, Daniel Giordano, Woomin Kim, Christopher Lin, Katherine Miranda, Carla Maldonado, Jonathan Sanchez Noa, Qinza Najm, Karl Orozco, María Elena Pombo, Xavier Robles Armas, Coral Saucedo, Daniel Shieh, Rachel Stern, Sagarika Sundaram, Lorenzo Triburgo, Derick Whitson, Huidi Xiang, & A Young Yu.
The work on view in Part Two of Bronx Calling powerfully engages with the complexities of the human condition: from our inseparability from nature to the dictates of our cultural identities and norms.
Our friends at Uptown Vinyl Supreme—a Bronx-based DJ collective and community organization paying homage to the analog roots of music, party, and dance culture—will be spinning records all evening! Plus New Belgium Brewing has generously sponsored refreshments for the party.
