South Street Seaport Museum announces its Free Fridays program on September 30, 2016 from 3pm-7pm. The Seaport Museum will offer free admission to its exhibition Street of Ships: The Port and its People, as well as thematic educational and programmatic activities including special tours, artisan demonstrations, talks and lectures, and hands-on activities for the whole family. More information can be found online at https://southstreetseaportmuseum.org/free-fridays/.

September’s Free Fridays program will include access to the main deck of the newly restored, 1885 full-rigged cargo sailing ship Wavertree, which the Seaport Museum welcomed back to Pier 16 this month. Wavertree was built at Southampton, England in 1885 for R.W. Leyland & Company of Liverpool and one of the last large sailing ships built of wrought iron. Today, she is the largest afloat.

The Free Fridays program will continue on October 28, 2016 from 3-7pm.
