The first-ever South Asian intercollegiate conference, South Asian Millennials Conference: A Spotlight on Change will be a 2-day weekend extravaganza and will take place from February 13th - 14th, 2016 at Columbia University. It will consist of various breakout sessions and panels on topics like My Art is Activism: South Asian LGBTQ+ Artists & Social Change, Challenging the Engineer-Doctor-Lawyer Stereotype, No More: An Inquiry into Sexual Assault & Domestic Violence in South Asia, The Role of an Offensive Joke in Conservative Nations, Policing Black & Brown, Transgender Movements in South Asia, Colonial Hangovers, Reproductive Health in Pakistan, and Does Bollywood Perpetuate Rape Culture? There are also several notable South Asian speakers like Shashi Tharoor - Member of Indian Parliament, Amna Nawaz - Emmy Award Winning ABC Broadcasting Journalist, Gursimran Khamba - Member of All India Bakchod, and Ghalib Shiraz Dhalla - Author of Ode to Lata throughout the weekend.
