September Town Hall: Performing Arts & Multi-hyphenates

This September, Asian American Arts Alliance (A4) presents a Town Hall centered on multi-hyphenates in the performing arts. Artists, collectives, and theatre companies are invited to share projects, resources, and opportunities with the AAPI creative community and to make connections.

Featured presenters include Kyoung H. Park, the founder of K-Space International and KPB New York, two public benefit corporations whose mission is to promote a culture of peace and non-violence through theater, film, television, and the arts.

We’ll also hear from Miranda Gohh, a Tony Award-nominated producer who is also the founder of Theatre Producers of Color (TPOC), an organization that empowers the next generation of BIPOC producers through education, training, and mentorship. She is also a co-founder of The Industry Standard Group (TISG), the first BIPOC-led commercial theatre investment and producing organization.

Additionally, the evening will feature a line-up of brief pitches from the community. After the presentations, we’ll host a potluck meal, so please bring something to share; homemade or store bought items are welcome. A4 will provide food sponsored by Little Kirin!

This event is FREE and open to the public. RSVP is required to attend and/or pitch, but you do not have to pitch to attend.

About the presenters

Kyoung H. Park is a North Korean playwright, director and filmmaker born and raised in Santiago, Chile. He is founder of K-Space International and KPB New York, two public benefit corporations whose mission is to promote a culture of peace and non-violence through theater, film, television and the arts.
K-Space and KPB are the next iteration of Kyoung’s Pacific Beat™, a Peacemaking Theater™ company Kyoung founded and led between 2011 and 2024. Through Kyoung’s Pacific Beat™, Kyoung raised over $1M to support 400+ NYC-based artists of color and served 11,000+ audience members worldwide. Along with a resident ensemble of artists, Kyoung devised four full-length plays: disOriented (“Kyoung’s most intensely personal play” —American Theatre Magazine), TALA (“an epic tale of the historical, hysterical, and personal” —New York Theater Review), PILLOWTALK (“very much of this moment” —The New York Times), NERO – and produced over 45 community-based, experimental projects.

Kyoung’s work centers stories of (im)migration, queerness, trauma and how these intersect in communities of color. He’s published in Seven Contemporary Plays from the Korean Diaspora in the Americas by Duke University Press and he’s been featured in ABC News/Univision, Lambda Literary, Howlround, The Brooklyn Rail, and The Korea Times. His leadership has been recognized with awards from ATHE, APAP, and NYC civic agencies.

Kyoung became an American citizen in 2023 and lives in Brooklyn, New York with his husband, Daniel Lim, and rescue pitbull, She-Ra. He continues his self-education in Buddhism, having made his refuge vows with His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, India.

Named a “2022 Woman to Watch on Broadway” by the Broadway Women’s Fund, Miranda Gohh is a Tony Award-nominated producer.

Miranda is the associate producer at Mike Bosner Productions (CATS: The Jellicle Ball, Proof starring Ayo Edebiri & Don Cheadle, 10 Things I Hate About You, Shucked). Broadway co-producing credits include: Gypsy (Tony nomination and Drama Desk Award), Suffs (Tony nomination and OCC Award), Cabaret (Tony nomination), Tony and Emmy Award winner Alex Edelman’s Just For Us, Here Lies Love, A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical, and KPOP. Off-Broadway: lead producer of the Obie Award-winning production of Circle Jerk.

Miranda is the founder of Theatre Producers of Color (TPOC), an organization that empowers the next generation of BIPOC producers through education, training, and mentorship. She is also a co-founder of The Industry Standard Group (TISG), the first BIPOC-led commercial theatre investment and producing organization.

Miranda was the recipient of the 2025 Prince/TTLP Fellowship (in association with Columbia University School of the Arts), and is a member of the 2025 Shubert Organization Artistic Circle. Additionally, through the Broadway League, Miranda was a recipient of the Rising Stars Fellowship (2019-2020) and the Gatchell and Neufeld Award (2022) and is currently a Broadway League Full Member. She is also an alumna of Wesleyan University.
