2025 What Can We Do? Awardee Dahyun Kim is pleased to present Rhythm & Seoul, a free 90-minute workshop that celebrates Korean music and culture across contemporary and jazz genres. Anyone from beginners to experienced dancers are welcome! Kneepads and longsleeves recommended for floorwork classes. This event is appropriate for adults ages 18 and above.

Dance styles will alternate between Contemporary (4/13, 4/20), Contemporary Floorwork (4/27, 5/4), and Jazz Funk(5/11, 5/18).

Cost
This event is free and open to the public, but RSVP is required.

About Dahyun Kim
Dahyun Kim is a Seoul-born choreographer, dancer, and educator whose work bridges contemporary dance, house, and Korean traditional rhythms. With an MFA in dance from NYU Tisch and a passion for storytelling, Dahyun explores themes of resilience and joy, often rooted in Korean culture and history. Known for activating the inner child in dancers, their choreography fosters curiosity, play, and cultural responsibility. Dahyun’s works, including 흥|Joy and 초희|Chohui, challenge stereotypes of East Asian culture by celebrating its dynamic and versatile nature. A leader and collaborator, they aim to inspire dialogue and societal change through movement and shared narratives. www.dahyunkim.info

This project is a part of the What Can We Do? artist grant program, presented by Asian American Arts Alliance (A4) and is supported by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
