Rez Abbasi's Invocation

Asia Society presents the New York premiere of Invocation, Pakistani-born jazz guitarist/composer Rez Abbasi’s group featuring Vijay Iyer (piano), Rudresh Mahanthappa (saxophone), Johannes Weidenmueller (acoustic bass),Dan Weiss (drums), Elizabeth Means (cello) and Rez Abbasi (guitar). In this special performance, the group will unveil a new project that explores Carnatic classical music from Southern India through the idiom of jazz.
