Pen Parentis Authors Face The Blank Page

Tuesday, October 8, 2024
7 – 8PM

This month at Pen Parentis, they explore “The blank page.” As a writer, does it thrill you–or terrify you? How do you get started with a new story or novel? What happens when you feel blocked? This month, authors Zibby Owens, Devi Laskar, Tanuja Desai Hidier, and Oliver de la Paz will share their own experiences and thoughts–and creative ideas about how to navigate this and other writing challenges.

Authors read from new works and discuss how they balance a career in poetry with an active young family at home. Pen Parentis Literary Salons were founded to celebrate the diversity of creative work by writers that are also parents, but this event will inspire ANYONE who is feeling stuck facing a blank page, whether for time or other pressures. They will look at the issue from the artist perspective but also from the intersections of parenthood and writing.

During the event, they encourage the audience to interact LIVE via chat. They just have to be logged in to whatever platform they are watching from. It will stream live to Facebook, LinkedIn and their youTube Channel.
