Opening Reception: Heartmind: Portraits from the Bob Lee & AAAC Collections

In collaboration with Think!Chinatown and as part of Chinatown Arts Week, Pearl River Mart presents “Heartmind: Portraits from the Bob Eng Lee and Asian American Arts Centre Collections.”

Established in 1974, the pivotal Asian American Arts Centre (AAAC) is one of the earliest Asian American arts and community organizations in the United States. Executive Director Bob Lee co-founded AAAC with choreographer Eleanor Yung to promote Asian American art and support Asian American artists and their work.

Co-curated by Lisa Yin Zhang, Simon Wu, and Jayne Cole, “Heartmind” sweeps through the history of this storied organization with select works from 14 Asian American artists.
