Panel Discussion/Talk

MOCA Town Hall

Tuesday, July 21, 2026
6 – 8PM

The Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA) invites you to join for a community town hall, an opportunity for open dialogue, questions, and shared conversation about issues that matter to the community, including the City’s capital funding for the Museum of Chinese in America’s building purchase and the construction of the new jail in Chinatown. The town hall will take place on Tuesday, July 21, from 6–8pm at Manny Cantor Center, 197 East Broadway, New York, NY 10002. The discussion will be moderated by a professional neutral mediator and is open to the public.

During the town hall, MOCA leadership will provide information, respond to questions, and, most importantly, listen to community perspectives and concerns. The forum is intended to create a space for respectful dialogue, greater transparency, and constructive engagement.

This convening builds on a series of conversations MOCA has held with community members, cultural leaders, scholars, artists, and partner organizations over the past several years. They hope this gathering will foster mutual understanding, strengthen community connections, and help communities move forward together.

To help MOCA prepare the space appropriately, they kindly ask that you register in advance. Walk-in registration will also be available at check-in.
