Interconnected (Bersinggungan)
5 – 10PM
A Multimedia Exhibition on Connection, Struggle, and Belonging
Interconnected / Bersinggungan marks the first public exhibition organized by Ruang Karsa, a new initiative fostering artistic dialogue across the Indonesian diaspora. This group exhibition features emerging Indonesian artists working across film, sound, collage, performance, textiles, and digital media. It centers on the lived experiences of migration, memory, and identity, offering a lens into how people remain connected across distance, to each other and their cultural roots.
The word bersinggungan in Indonesian suggests moments of contact, overlap, and friction—whether between ideas, bodies, or histories. This exhibition explores how those moments give rise to solidarity, resilience, and new forms of belonging. The works on view reflect a range of perspectives shaped by diaspora, queerness, spirituality, and resistance, inviting viewers to consider what it means to live in relation to others across borders and time.
Through deeply personal and politically engaged practices, the artists create space for reflection and dialogue, tracing lines between the individual and collective, the inherited and reimagined.
Open to all. Light refreshments provided.
