In:Formation Festival

These artistic works are capstone projects of the William R. Kenan, Jr. Fellowship cohort at Lincoln Center and represent the beginning steps for what may be longer journeys of artistic inquiry. The fellowship is designed to bridge the gap between conservatory training and a professional arts community in NYC. While at Lincoln Center, the Fellows have opportunities to develop and strengthen skills as arts educators while building relationships across our organization and the wider arts landscape. The selected Fellows are recent graduates of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
Annette Cho’s artistic project is part of the In:Formation Festival program. The Newcomer is a multimedia community art project featuring a short animation, interactive digital artwork, and a participatory art-making workshop. It explores cultural pride within the Korean diaspora, inviting participants to reflect on their heritage through the lens of food as a symbol of cultural identity. The animation and interactive elements serve as prompts to inspire this reflection.
